 September 8th the Eye Clinic will be officially open! Currently Dr. Rosenwald will see 3-4 patients (BY APPOINTMENT) one Monday each month. This is another exceptional collaboration that Master’s Manna is so proud to be able to announce to our community. The joy of this relationship is that Dr. Rosenwald is willing to give of his time and talent, with the LIMITED space here at Master’s Manna, and with a little creativity, we now have an EYE CLINIC. We are blessed.

As the numbers of individuals seeking services~ especially assistance with securing food~ The James H. Napier Foundation’s approval of the requested $10,000 will ensure availability of access to the Food Pantry, Family Dining Center and home deliveries to our neighbors in need. We are humbly grateful for this support!

EVERY CHILD should have the necessary school supplies which is why Master’s Manna will again partner with WalMart..Friday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 23rd the big yellow school bus will once again be in front of WalMart. Our volunteers will be onsite collecting and sorting school supplies. Last year 289 “Back to School” packets were delivered to students registered with Master’s Manna. Let’s make it 325!!!! With the complete repair of the Kelly walk-in freezer, kept at a coooool 18 degrees, and the latest addition of a new three door industrial fridge unit our “shoppers” can be assured that their shopping experience will include food procured, handled and stored in a safe and healthy manner.

This room is narrow, deep and windowless…. everything an eye doctor could ask for! With a fresh coat of paint, scrubbed, waxed and buffed floor this space ready welcome Dr. Rosenwald! Appointments for eye care are limited to individuals already registered with Master’s Manna and will be made beginning in mid-August for Monday mornings.

Mr. Tariq Farid toured Master’s Manna today with Anna Mariotti. Families were shopping for food, eating in the Family Dining Center, Community Health Center was in operation, two students from the Summer Youth Employment Program were in orientation, four Choate students along with Jim Yanelli and Vince were working diligently in several areas, clothing was being sorted and hung… typical day. After the tour Mr. Farid offered his support to our mission which aligns closely to the mission of the Tariq Farid Foundation. We are exceptionally thankful to The WalMart Foundation for the opportunity to not only submit a grant but also to showcase the work that  is done at Master’s Manna through working with LOTS of community partners. The approval of the submitted grant is a statement of support that encourages our hearts and will enable Master’s Manna to accomplish the mission.

Ben Haven, High Roads Academy and Lyman Hall I.C.E.-T. program are three local schools that utilize Master’s Manna as an educational and vocational site. These students bring joy, new perspectives, challenges that are building blocks and daily reminders that every person has a special set of skills which equates to value and worth!

Received another check from a faithful community friend to use toward repair of the Kelly walk-in! This unit should be up an operational this week… just in time to cool off for intended use. BRING ON THE PRODUCE!! We can handle it!!!

This walk-in cooler is $500 closer to repair! Less than 5 minutes ago a local company dropped off a check for $500.00. We are so grateful. TOTAL COLLECTED: $1562.95. Approximately $1000 left to acquire!
